Bio
Yu Yan received her B.S. (2018) in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Science & Technology in Beijing and her M.S. (2019) in Materials Science and Engineering, from Carnegie Mellon University. She is a Ph.D. student in the Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department of Carnegie Mellon University. Her work focuses specifically on the micromagnetic modelling of HAMR media.
Research
Yu Yan’s research interests are in micromagnetic modelling of HAMR media. She recently works on understanding and simulation of the switching process of L10 FePt grains during recording.
